Finance and Business Operations Analyst

Drives Logic is helping our growing client add a Finance and Business Operations Analyst to provide financial and project operations analyses in support of corporate operations and project delivery excellence. The candidate will work closely with the Chief Operations Officer (COO), Director of Finance and the broader senior leadership team to create, refine and establish reports and analyses to enable the company to make data-driven decisions about resourcing and the health of its ongoing projects. The candidate will also support proposal pricing working in collaboration with the business development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the government industry and must be an independent self-starter.

Essential Duties

 The Finance and Business Operations Analyst will directly support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), COO, and the Director of Finance to create, refine and establish reports and analyses for staff utilization, project spend forecasting, project profitability, trend analysis and related project health metrics. In addition, the Finance and Business Operations Analyst will support proposal pricing working in collaboration with the business development team. Specific activities include:

  • Gather management information and analytics needs, identify relevant data sources, and design / refine applicable reports
  • Coordinate with senior leaders, and relevant vendors, to improve data reliability and extraction approaches
  • Analyze data and identify trends in the delivery of reports about resourcing and project health
  • Assist with the development of goals and metrics to measure productivity, project profitability, revenue backlog and similarly related reports and management data needs
  • Prepare and present briefings to various levels of management to effectively communicate data analysis, trends, and recommendations where applicable.
  • Participating in meetings to discuss project execution, schedules, technical performance, and providing recommendations for improvements, as appropriate.
  • Lead the overall pricing approach, BOE modeling, and RFP required response development.
  • Integrate pricing strategy and tactics into basis of estimates to achieve price competitiveness / financial expectations
  • Contribute to building / updating / utilization of pricing library for historical reference programs to justify BOEs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Business and/or Operations Management with 4-5 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of FAR and experience with all contract types (Fixed Price, Cost Plus, Time and Materials)
  • Possess organization, time management, active listening, and observation skills.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Professional certifications in business and financial modeling a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Office 360, SharePoint

 Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience participating in meetings to discuss project execution, schedules, technical performance, and providing recommendations for improvements, as appropriate
  • Experience in organizing and gathering data, conducting analysis, preparing reports, briefings and specialized graphics, reports, charts and organized documentation without assistance
  • Experience in Federal Contracts Acquisition Processes, the critical nature of pricing strategy / basis of estimate (BOE) modeling and its significant impact on the ability to win and execute opportunities.
  • Evaluate existing processes, policies and business practices and provide creative ideas to improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience managing and coordinating multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and communicating effectively with internal teammates across different functions and programs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel and Word skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a remote/virtual work environment
